Emilie Armstrong

Thematic History Educator & Curriculum Innovator

Emilie Armstrong brings nearly two decades of experience teaching high school history in diverse educational settings, including public and private high schools and a homeschool tutorial program. She holds a B.A. in History from Auburn University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Montevallo, along with multiple Advanced Placement certifications.

From 2005 to 2025 (with cherished years spent at home raising her children), Emilie has taught grades 9–12 with a strong emphasis on thematic instruction that brings history to life. Her work at institutions such as Ironwood Academy has allowed her to create meaningful connections between historical content and present-day relevance.

Emilie’s particular interests include Black studies and examining the social consequences of discrimination, which she weaves into her curriculum to foster critical thinking and cultural awareness. Her commitment to academic rigor, equity, and student-centered learning makes her a valued voice on the Link-Wise Learning Advisory Council.
