Kara Karnes, M.A.
Upper School History Educator & Adjunct Professor
Kara Karnes is a passionate educator with over 15 years of experience teaching middle and high school students, and an additional five years serving as an adjunct professor in higher education. She holds a Social Studies degree with teacher licensure from Liberty University and a Master’s in History from Wayland Baptist University.
Kara specializes in thematic instruction and is known for fostering rich discussion, critical thinking, and historical connection-making in her classrooms. Her teaching is grounded in the belief that every student learns best in their own way, and she is deeply committed to helping learners uncover strategies that allow them to thrive.
Kara lives in South Carolina with her husband of 22 years and their three children. Outside of the classroom, she loves being on the boat, traveling, spending time at the beach, and creating lasting memories with her family.
She brings to the Link-Wise Learning Advisory Council a dedication to student-centered instruction and a heart for helping every learner reach success with purpose, engagement, and confidence.
